Online Therapy Agreement

This Online Therapy Agreement (the "Agreement") governs your use of the therapeutic services provided by Gergana Ganeva Therapy. By accessing and utilizing these services, you acknowledge and agree to the terms set out below. Please read this Agreement carefully before proceeding with therapy services. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not proceed with the services.

1. Therapy Services and Your Role

The therapeutic services offered are designed to help individuals explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. These services aim to assist with emotional and psychological support, personal growth, and self-awareness. However, if at any time you feel that these services do not meet your needs or expectations, you are welcome to seek alternative therapeutic support.

Important Notice:

  • Emergency Situations: If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts, are considering self-harm, or are at risk of harming others, or if you feel someone else is in immediate danger, you must immediately call your local emergency services. This service is not suitable for emergency situations or clinical diagnoses requiring an in-person evaluation. If you require official documentation or court-ordered therapy, or if you need advice on medical treatments or drug prescriptions, this service is not appropriate for those needs.

  • Seek Emergency Care: If you are in crisis or dealing with intense emotional distress, please contact a local emergency service provider, counselor, or medical professional. Online therapy is not designed to address these urgent matters.

By proceeding with these services, you acknowledge that you do so entirely at your own risk and understand the limitations of online therapy.

2. Therapy Approach

The therapeutic work offered through this service is rooted in a humanistic, process-led approach, which focuses on exploration and self-discovery. This approach emphasizes reflective thinking, meaning-making, and the personal growth that emerges from within.

  • Directive Solutions: If you are seeking quick fixes, symptom relief, or a structured, solution-focused approach with specific interventions, this service may not be the best fit for you. More directive therapies may better address those needs.
Clients are encouraged to reflect thoughtfully on their circumstances, as this approach works best for individuals who are ready to engage in self-exploration rather than expecting immediate solutions.

3. Therapist-Client Fit

The therapeutic relationship is a co-created process between the therapist and the client. It is essential that both parties feel comfortable and engaged in the work together. Finding a good fit between therapist and client is a key aspect of therapy and may take time to establish. It is completely natural for clients to feel that their initial connection with the therapist might not be the right fit for their needs. If this occurs, please know that this is not a personal reflection of you or your therapist. Therapy works best when both parties feel aligned in their approach, and it is important that you feel comfortable and heard. If, for any reason, you do not feel that the therapy style or approach matches your needs, it is encouraged that you reflect on this and make the necessary decisions regarding your ongoing therapeutic journey. The process of finding the right therapeutic match is a personal one, and it is important that you feel supported and empowered in making choices that are in line with your needs and goals.

4. Disclaimer of Warranty and Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to release and hold harmless Gergana Ganeva Therapy and the therapist(s) from any and all claims, actions, or liability resulting from your use of the online therapy services. This includes, but is not limited to, any opinions, advice, suggestions, or actions provided during the therapeutic sessions.

  • No Guarantees: The therapist does not guarantee any specific outcomes, relief, or success as therapy is a dynamic and individual process.

  • Therapeutic Process: Any advice or information offered is meant as an aid in your own self-discovery and should not be seen as a substitute for professional medical care or emergency support.

5. Session Cancellation and Payment Policy

  • Session Cancellation: You may cancel or reschedule a session up to 48 hours in advance without incurring any fees. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled session time will incur a full session fee.

  • Late or Missed Sessions: Clients who miss a session without prior notice will be charged for the session, as the therapist needs sufficient notice to adjust schedules and offer the available slot to others.

  • Payment Methods: We accept payments via bank transfer, PayPal, and Revolut. Full payment is required prior to or at the time of each session.

6. Your Commitment and Representations

By engaging in these therapy services, you represent that:

  • You are legally able to consent to receive therapy services.

  • You understand that you are entering into a professional therapeutic relationship that requires respect, cooperation, and honesty.

7. Online Therapy Limitations

The online therapy provided through this service is designed to support individuals in personal growth and emotional well-being. However, due to the nature of online work, certain limitations apply:

  • Online therapy may not be appropriate for those experiencing intense crises, emergency situations, or individuals in need of medical or psychiatric intervention.

  • Technical Limitations: Online therapy requires a stable internet connection. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary technology and environment to participate in the session effectively.

8. Modifications and Termination of Services

  • Changes to Services: Gergana Ganeva Therapy reserves the right to modify, update, or discontinue any services at any time. You will be notified of such changes if they affect your current therapeutic arrangement.

  • Termination: Either you or the therapist may terminate the therapeutic relationship at any time. Should you wish to stop receiving services, please provide notice at your earliest convenience. If you are unsatisfied with the services or feel they do not meet your needs, please communicate with your therapist to discuss possible adjustments.

9. Confidentiality and Data Protection

All personal information shared during therapy is kept confidential and will not be disclosed to any third parties without your explicit consent, unless required by law (such as in cases of risk of harm to yourself or others). This agreement also ensures compliance with relevant data protection and privacy laws applicable in your jurisdiction.

Acknowledgment

By using this service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to all terms outlined in this Agreement. If you have any questions or concerns, please discuss them with your therapist before beginning your sessions.
